Anthony & Bronislawa Miodusewska,
my maternal grandparents who immigrated to the USA from Warsaw, Poland and landed at Ellis Island in the early 1900’s. They resided in the Port Richmond section of Phila. and were the proprietors of a delicatessen on Belgrade St. and later on the corner of Memphis & Ann St. They are shown here with their twin daughters, (my mother on the right) who came to them in their later years. My grandmother passed away 2 months after this photo was taken. I look forward to the day when I can meet them in heaven since I never had the privilege to do so here.

Joseph & Dorothy McMonagle
were my paternal grandparents who lived a good long life. They lived in the Port Richmond section of Phila. and were of Nativity Parish. They spent every summer since the 1940s at their shore house on 14th Ave. in North Wildwood where my Grandfather built for his family their summerhome. It was enjoyed for many years by their 8 children and 50+ grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

While they were at the shore, my grandparents spent much of their time sport fishing. My grandmother (my namesake), was an award-winning fisherwoman who is recorded for winning many many tournaments, mostly big game fish. A story will soon be coming about their 1940s Chris Craft, the ‘Leprechaun’.

My grandfather, better known as “Joe Mick” is known and loved by many. He was owner of a corner bar at Belgrade & Clearfield St. called Mick’s Inn. He was a very humble and generous man who helped many people.
