Dear Sun

PHOTO OF 305 E. ROBERTS AVENUE CIRCA 1941. THE FENCE WAS MOVED A YEAR LATER TO THE CORNER OF ATLANTIC AVENUE AND THE GROTTO WAS ADDED AND NAMED AFTER LOUISE’S MOTHER “VILLA DE LA JOSEPHINE.”
POST CARD BY LYNN H. BOYER, WILDWOOD, N.J.

While visiting the Wildwoods last summer, I picked up your paper and got completely absorbed. I spent my childhood there so I found it a really fun read.

I especially found the “Heller House” interesting. After reading the article, I realized that this was “Aunt Marie” Heller’s house in the article. She was my Mother’s girlfriend from childhood in Brewery town (early 1900s.) They were friends all their lives. We visited their house and they visited ours on Roberts Avenue in Wildwood. I remember Betty and Frank from our youth and then Betty entering the Convent. I was so happy to know they are doing well. Perhaps I will get to visit them this summer.

My father built a home at 305 E. Roberts Avenue in 1941 or 42. It had a Grotto in the side yard. It was built on three lots and most people thought it was a religious facility. While visiting the Wildwood Museum some time ago, I was shocked to see a photo of it hanging in one of the rooms. They did not know anything about the house so I came home and wrote this note to them which I never did mail until now.

Again I thank you for your great newspaper and a wonderful trip down memory lane. Keep up the good work! The only improvement I can think of is more frequent issues!

Thank You,
Louise McK Blount
